December is the summer season of Sydney. The weather is very mild and pleasant. The hotel for holding the conference is Citigate Central Hotel Sydney. Ideally located in the heart of Sydney’s entertainment and theatre district, this leading 4.5 star hotel has recently had a multi-million dollar refurnishment on its 251 oversized rooms and 11 conference rooms. Reception and Banquet

It is expected that 250-300 participants will attend the WI-IAT2008 joint conferences. Reception will be arranged in the evening of 9 Dec 2008 and open to all attendees. The Faculty of Information Technology and the hotel facilities will be used for the reception. We will also arrange the WI-IAT Workshop sessions on 8 Dec 2008, as well as Demo sessions on 8 Dec 2008. Banquet will be arranged in the evening of 10 Dec 2008 in the hotel. It will have a best papers and demos awards ceremony etc during the banquet.

Local Tour

Host to the 2000 Olympic Games, Sydney has been voted the “the world’s favourite city” by Conde Nast Traveller. There are a wealth of sightseeing attractions, in and around Sydney, which are perfect for day tours or weekend excursions. The conference organizer will arrange one travel agent to look after the tourism inside and outside Sydney with special rates for conference delegates at each their own expense. People can also easily find many travel agencies around the Hotel, for instance STA and Flight Centre.
